Surf and Turf Grilled Beef Burger
This is a budget-wise version of the steak-house classic. Lean Beef burgers deliver an excellent source of protein, zinc and vitamin B12 – not to mention flavour!
1. Combine steak sauce, onion, egg, 3 tbsp (45 mL) fresh dill and salt in a bowl with a fork. Mix in beef and bread crumbs. Gently form into four 3/4-inch (2 cm) thick patties. Press a dimple into the centre of each patty. Place on a plate, cover and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
2. Shrimp Salsa: Meanwhile, chop the shrimp. Combine shrimp with radishes, mayonnaise, cocktail sauce and remaining fresh dill in a bowl. Cover and refrigerate.
3. Grill patties over medium-high heat in a closed preheated barbecue for 10 to 14 minutes, turning twice, until digital instant-read thermometer inserted sideways into centre of each patty reads 160°F (71°C).
4. If desired, spread some additional mayonnaise on each bun and garnish with fresh dill. Top with burgers and lettuce (if using). Top each with Shrimp Salsa.
